Is New Westminster becoming a concrete jungle? With all the construction going on, it is a valid concern.
Yes, we have encouraged new development in specific areas. During the construction phase it can be quite a disruption. But be patient – once completed, you will see how dramatically the new facilities will improve life. Keep in mind, we are a city not a rural town.
But it is a matter of balance. While we have initiated many new developments we have not neglected the need for green space. New Westminster offers residents and visitors with a variety of urban and natural parks, trails and open spaces that encourages outdoor living.
Few realize that we have 14 neighbourhood parks and nearly 30 community parks – be sure to view the photo gallery at the end of this post. In this past year we have created a number of new parks, trails, and outdoor facilities and there is more to come.
New West a concrete jungle? Never, it is THE city in the lower mainland in which to live, work, and play.
