Thirty-two years ago, when Wayne Wright first moved to New Westminster, he was struck by the great potential he saw, and fell in love with our unique city and its rich heritage. He later took out the very first long-term lease at Westminster Quay Market.

A businessman and former CEO, Wayne recognized the potential of Columbia Street, and became President of the Downtown BIA. He supported a wide range of local charities over the decades, and was named New Westminster Citizen of the Year 2000.

As the years passed, Wayne saw that our neighbourhoods were going downhill and our industrial tax base was being eroded. Recognizing a lack of leadership and vision at city hall, he decided to do something about it.

Our Royal City has begun to shine once again. And once again we are surrounded by a feeling of optimism.
